Canon has introduced the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM zoom lens.

Canon has introduced the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM zoom lens. Designed exclusively for use with Canon DSLRs with the EF-S mount, including the Canon EOS 30D and EOS 350D, it creates a 1.6x multiplication effect, providing a focal length of 27-88mm.
To reduce the effect of blur caused by camera shake, the lens includes a 3-stop Image Stabiliser, enabling the use of lower shutter speeds.
Two Ultra-Low Dispersion elements are designed to reduce secondary chromatic aberrations and two aspherical elements cut spherical aberrations.
The EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM is available from June 2006 for £869.99.
Canon has also introduced the EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM. Featuring the widest aperture of any EF lens, it is suitable for low-light conditions. Aimed at the professional user is replaces the EF 85mm f/1.2 L USM and costs £1629.99. Log onto www.canon.co.uk to find out more.
