Nikon is extending its Lifestyle range with three entry-level compacts.
With respective resolutions of 6MP, 5.1MP and 4MP, the Coolpix L2, L3 and L4 each include a 3x optical Nikkor lens.
View and compose pictures using the 2in LCD screen, which includes a selection of new icons for easy operation, and an enhanced colour scheme.
Incorporated into each camera is Nikon?s D-Lighting features, designed to reduce under- or over-exposed pictures. For optimum portraits, Face-priority AF automatically detects and focuses on faces.
The three cameras each have 15 scene modes, four with scene assist, providing on-screen composition guides. The built-in movie mode captures 640x movies at a rate of 30fps.
The Coolpix L4 boasts macro shooting from 4cm, increasing to 10cm for the L2 and L3. Power is supplied using 2x AA batteries. Pictures can be stored on a removable SD card; while the L2 and L3 have internal memory of 24Mb, and the L4 10Mb internal memory.
Other features include: Pictbridge compatibility, six pre-set white balance controls and a blur warning.
Available at the end of February, the Coolpix L2 costs £129.99 and the Coolpix L3 £169.99. The black L3 is a Jessops exclusive. The L4 will be available in the middle of March for £199.99.
