Nikon has announced an update to its RAW capture software Nikon Capture, adding support to its new digital SLR, the D200.
Version 4.4 includes a new black & white function, which has been added to the Color Mode function in the Advanced RAW tool palette. Enhancements have also been made to the way that tones in highlight areas are reproduced; this reduces any loss of detail that may occur when the Exposure Compensation is set to a negative value, although this function doesn?t apply to RAW images captured with the D1 or Coolpix compacts.
The update can be used with versions of Nikon Capture from 4.2.0 to 4.3.2. Owners of version 4.1.3 or earlier need to upgrade to version 4.2.0 first.
