Nikon’s new D200 digital SLR goes on sale on December 15th – but you can see it first at Solutions Expo. This 10.2-megapixel camera includes a new 11-area AF system, and D2X processing engine, for a body-only price of £1299.99.
Suitable for enthusiast photographers of all ages, this two-day event is a chance to have a look at the latest equipment and post your questions to experts from Nikon and its exhibition partners. Three tableaux offer hands-on shooting advice about fashion, bride and portrait photography, still life and macro photography and a live action shoot.
Taking place on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd November, the exhibition is being held at Olympia in London. One of the many highlights is the Apple Aperture road show – these are the only UK dates. The Apple Aperture road show consists of a series of two-hour sessions giving photographers a chance to learn more about Apple’s post-production program Aperture, as well as finding more about the new operating system Mac OS X Tiger.
Photoshop expert and author Steve Caplin will be running a session on creating a photomontage using the industry-leading program; looking at layer techniques including Layer Masks, Clipping Groups and Blending Modes.
HP is holding a series of case studies giving you a chance to find out more about photography. Highlights include a talk by Stuart Franklin from Magnum Photo, winner of the World Press award for his iconic photo of a man standing in front of a tank in Tiananmen Square. Also, Fred Zuill from HP USA will talk about print technology.
