ACD Systems has announced the latest version of its photo management software, complete with a selection of new features. The Quick Search bar enables users to search for an image simply by typing in a word, searching key words, categories and folders, while the Photo Repair Tool can illuminate problems like red eye, scratches and lens flare. There are also 27 filters. ACDSee 8 has the facility to create VCD slideshows with music that can be burnt onto CD. The program supports IPTC metadata fields – such as captions, credits or categories and enables you to make adjustments or delete the information. James Latham from ACD Systems comments: ‘With the explosion of digital cameras and camera phones, the need for photo management software is greater then ever…. the new features and overall speed of ACDSee 8 empower our users to make the most of their images.’ ACDSee 8 is available for Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000 and XP for £27 ($49.99.)
