Research conducted by software developer iView highlights key issues for professional photographers.
– 51% of professional photographers say file management is the greatest challenge associated with digital photography
– 35% feel that the advantage of digital photography is greater control
– 25% say that the advantage of digital photography is that it enables greater creativity
The research discovered there are four areas of file management that pose challenges to photographers: efficient and effective ways of storing and locating files, the lack of an industry standard for capturing metadata, the process of learning new software and the time spent on a computer organising (instead of taking) photographs.
Yan Calotychos from iView comments: ?We must provide solutions that ease the technological learning curve and enable photographers to realise their visions and easily access all their digital assets.?
