A collection of David Steen's photographs of iconic male figures ‘Heroes and Villains’ is the name of new book from Genesis Publications and an exhibition currently showing at the Hoopers Gallery. More than 100 icon men - many larger than life – feature in the book, from Cliff Richard to the Beatles to Sean Connery and Charlie Chaplin. Many of them are photographed in incredibly atypical scenarios; Bing Crosby is seen playing golf in Claridge’s Hotel, while Ronnie Wood relaxes with his daughter, and great train robber Ronnie Biggs sits on a railway line in Rio de Janeiro. Offering a unique view of some of the most prominent men of the century, Heroes and Villains is well worth a look. The exhibition runs until 3rd June at Hoopers Gallery, 15 Clerkenwell Close, London, EC1R 0AA and David Steen will be signing copies of the book on 28th May. Heroes and Villains – the signed, handmade limited edition book of 1,250 copies – is now available through www.genesis-publications.com or 01483 540970. Regular copies £150, deluxe leather copies (signed by Roger Moore) £250.
