Re: Great Spotted Woodpecker..
Good Morning Alan, thank you for your comments, this image was taken in the woodlands at Rosemoor, the gardens are surrounded by wonderful woodlands with brilliant walks! they also have bird feeders scattered around Rosemoor which is a delight to watch the birds! catching them on camera is another story! There is also a lake where I believe kingfisher visit! now that would be a gem to catch!..Caroline

HI Caroline I am a RHS member at Rosemoor and I would like to know which woodland, is it the woodland walk that starts at the lake or the woodlands over the road -

Hi Alan, that's great news! it's the woodland that starts at the lake, walking through the area where the brash is, the woodpecker went as quick as it arrived! I'm amazed I caught it at all! We have also seen a Treecreeper and a Nuthatch? have you seen any of these Alan? I see Rosemoor have a photography weekend in August which looks interesting!..Caroline -

Re: Great Spotted Woodpecker..
Hi Alan, the next time you visit Rosemoor if you look to the left after the turnstyle there is a lot of information leaflets and one of them is a booklet called "whats on at RHS Rosemoor " it is full of whats on all year, it's brilliant filled with lots of exciting things on..June 8th they have Mr Acker Bilk and his jazz Band at Rosemoor, I hope we can go, the digital photography is 9/10 for beginners and 11/12th for improvers, there is also Butterfly and and a fungi day with a guided walk around the gardens and woods, it can be tricky to spot fungi so that sounds interesting! and many more! better stop there Alan, else I will run out of space!..Caroline
