Hi there. I love this image, partly because I shot one like it on film quite a few years ago. I have since scanned it in and now have it in my gallery. I do remember how bitterly cold it was as I waited for the sun to come up. I now use a DSLR and enjoy every minute of it. All the best.Mike. -

Thank you for your comments. Thankfully I didn't have to wait outside too long for this shot. I was on a long weekend break with my family around the Fermanagh Lakes. The first day we were there I saw this place while we walking through the woods. Each morning the weather and light was less than ideal (there's a reason there are a lot of lakes in Fermanagh). On the very last day the dawn was perfect and I took my little girl for a walk and this scene just unfolded as I was taking pictures of the sun rising. The swan was very obliging, taking just a few minutes to drift into the path of the light on the water.
