I think that what makes this image so appealing Eric is the time of the day at which you took this shot, ie, when the sun was low allowing these beautiful golden colours to warm it up. The excellent composition too plays a pivotal role in making the image successful. All the best,Mike.

Hi Mike thank you for your comment. I like Landscape photography above anything else but to make it work it has to be planned I use a sunrise/sunset compess to know how at any given time of the year I know how the light will fall on the subject this image i wanted side lighting and low winter light January to March is the time for this image.
