In the last few weeks I've added a 12 on 120 Ikonta 521/16 with 75mm f3.5 Opton Tessar and two Zorki 4K bodies, plus one 50mm f2 Jupiter 8 to my collection. I bought the Ikonta in "good user" condition for £30 at Photographica last month, and I paid £9.99 for the Zorki bodies and Jupiter lens.
Never having had a real 35mm interchangeable lens rangefinder before I started on the Zorkis, built in the 1970s. The first body needed its shutter exercising before it ran smoothly, and I also checked and adjusted the rangefinder assuming that the Jupiter lens was correctly set. Result - 35 out of 37 well exposed and very sharp slides taken on Provia 100F exposed using a Weston V. The two missing exposures were caused when I closed the case lid on the cocked body, and tripped the shutter accidentally.
I then put a roll of Reala in the 1950s Ikonta, same metering as before and had the negs printed to 10" square. Exposure #2 looks as though the film got sucked towards the lens when I opened the camera, but otherwise the results are sharp and apart from the high saturation from the Reala/Fuji paper quite pleasing. This was a pleasant find as I noticed that there were some marks around the shutter fixing ring, and I had feared that the lens/shutter assembly might be out of alignment. (And no bellows leaks!)
Processing in both cases (very clean & no dust) with very fast turn-round was by Peak Imaging.
I must now turn my attention again to my Rollei 6006 and see if I can get that working half-decently.
