Howe come I've had to do that verification thing with the letters and numbers. sure I didn't have to do it before.

Yes, that is something that was disabled a couple of days ago because there ere issues with it. It has since been repaired and reinstated.

It's to, hopefully, stop the spammers and something one has to do at registration and for the first 10 posts only.

Ah - that page also explains why I show up on the forum as '.5MP'. I really was wondering if the software was suggesting I was a couple of pixels short of an image!
