Ok so I've had a DSLR for about a year now, and haven't bought beyond the kit lens, but have a bit of experience with a few different lenses thanks to some very kind friends lending me stuff! Anyway, so it's time to branch out, and I was hoping on some advice as to where to go next.

Firstly, I'll pick up a 50mm 1.8, no real issue there.

I'd also like a good telephoto (doesn't have to be too long as I'm not made of money), and a pretty good wide angle (again I can't go too wide due to financial concerns). So here's what I'm looking at (in ascending price!);

Canon 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III USM
Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro
Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Canon70-200mm f/4.0L USM

Wide Angle;
Canon 28mm f/2.8
Sigma 28mm f/1.8 EX Aspherical DG DF Macro
Canon 24mm f/2.8
Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX DG (I guess this would just replace the kit lens then)
Canon 28mm f/1.8 USM
Sigma 20mm f/1.8 EX Aspherical DG DF RF
Canon 20mm f/2.8 USM

I know there's a fair few lenses there, and my request is pretty much hopelessly vague, but I was just wondering what peoples impressions were, or what they would be inclined to go with and why?
