A recomended small digital camera?
My wife bought me a Vivitar ViviCam 5024 but as I have a Canon EOS 300D it is not the sort of camera I want so she has used it. The camera has never performed with the major problem being a propensity to create photographs that are out of focus so I would like some advise for something about the same size but which actually works.
hi and welcome. does your wife have a smart phone or a phone with a camera. there are a lot of cameras in this price range canon icus 132 from amazon is one that comes to mind
No, my wife doesn't have a smart phone and the phone that she does have with a camera gives rubbish results so I will indeed have a look at the Canon.

I won't recommend a particular brand or model because there are dozens of the little blighters to choose from and they are much of a muchness and although quite capable in good light, they are obviously built down to a price.
Personally I have had good experience with Panasonic compact cameras and Kodak and, like you, a terrible Vivitar. Come to think of it the first Kodak didn't last long, but that is academic since they don't make them any longer. In any case, historic experience is not a reliable indicator of today's performance.

I have the fuji xf1 compact, and can highly recommend it, getting it for £130 is a great price, I paid a lot more for mine.
