F300EXR, S2800HD and Z800EXR announced

Fujifilm has expanded its compact camera range today with three new models, two of which feature a new generation of EXR sensor.

First up is the new Z800EXR – the model is one of the two to feature the new, second-generation EXR sensor offering 12MP resolution with, Fujifilm claims, class-leading dynamic range and low noise/high sensitivity options.

The Z800EXR features an impressive 3.5in touch-screen LCD, complete with a 460K-dot resolution LCD screen, as well as a dual direction GUI and dual image display, both aimed at improving usability.

The 5x optical zoom Z800EXR also boasts a Hybrid Auto Focus system aimed at measuring the amount of light and contrast in a scene and then picking the suitable focus system – either Phase Detection or Contrast AF – to get sharp images.

The second camera to benefit from the new EXR sensor technology is the new F300EXR. The model is the latest in the award-winning range of F series cameras, and offers a full specification. The model features the aforementioned 12MP, 1/2in Super CCD EXR sensor, with a full range of the EXR modes present. The model also features a 15x optical zoom, covering 24-360mm in 35mm equivalent terms.

The F300EXR boasts a 3in high-contrast 460k-dot LCD screen, while also featuring the same hybrid auto-focus system found on the Z800EXR. Furthermore, the F300EXR also features full HD video capture at a resolution of 720p, making high-quality video capture a real prospect.

Completing the trio of new compacts is the Fujifilm FinePix S2800HD. The model is the latest in the superzoom S series of Fuji’s and lays claim to being the world’s smallest 18x zoom camera. The S2800HD offers a 28-504mm focal range, in 35mm terms, and features a 14MP sensor. The S2800HD also, as its name suggests, offers HD video capture at a resolution of 720p, and also features a mini HDMI port for outputting the videos.

The AA battery powered compact features full manual controls, but also a range settings suited to those wanting to take photos without having to deal with the complicated settings, such as Scene Recognition, Smile and Shoot mode and Blink Detection.
