Vimeo has released its 180-shortlist for its first global video competition

Vimeo has released the shortlist of videos
for its first global competition which will now be reviewed by an esteemed
group of judges to determine the finalists.


Vimeo, the online
video sharing site, received more than 6,500 video
entries from over 80 countries. The shortlist, which represents
some of the most creative and innovative video productions online,
includes entries from 24 countries.


The
top 180 videos were selected by a group of curators, film festival directors,
and Vimeo staff then split into nine categories, including narrative,
documentary, music videos and animation.


The
international panel of judges, including M.I.A., Ted Hope, David Lynch, and
Roman Coppola to name a few, are currently screening the shortlist and will announce
the top 5 finalists from each group on 21st September. The full
