    I've never heard of a "Made in China" model having a trigger voltage over 10V, although I can't be absolutely categoric. There's a table of trigger voltages here: http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html

    You can test the trigger voltage if you have a multimeter - there's a video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo9tPDCsE7s

    I would frankly be very surprised indeed if yours wasn't safe.

    There aren't many old guns I think it's worth using, but this is one of them!

    I carried out the trigger voltage test and its 8.9 -9.1 volts dc so I tried it and its a goer Thanks..............now just have to remember how to set the exposure to the power...its been a looooooong time since I had to think about exposure V aperture. Its amazing how lazy weve all become with fully auto cameras. Again a BIG thank you
