u2018The Nikon Foundationu2019 open to final year photography students

Nikon UK has announced a new initiative aimed at giving talented photography students a start as a professional photographer.

The Nikon Foundation, as the initiative is labelled, is a competition open to final year students attending higher education photography-based college or university courses across the UK and Ireland.

The winning student will scoop the ideal start as a professional photographer – a three-month internship with fashion and celebrity photographer John Wright, as well as Nikon professional equipment worth £4000.

Jeremy Gilbert, Group Marketing Manager, Nikon UK says: “We recognise that getting a job in photography after education can be tough, which is why we have introduced this money can’t buy opportunity. We hope that the winner will pick up some valuable experience, tips and skills from John to help them progress their career.”

To enter the competition students must submit a portfolio of images, along with a covering letter. The competition will run from today until 31st March 2011, with the winners announced in April. The three-month placement with John will commence in June 2011.
