Default Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 - internal memory full?

    Hi all,

I've just received a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 for Christmas and am having problems with it. I have set it to take photos in the smallest format, so should get about 67 photos. I don't have an SD card yet (and one wasn't supplied with it...not sure if I was supposed to get one in the box?). When I try to take a shot, it says 'internal memory full'. I have been through the menus and have reformatted the memory, but the same 'internal memory full' message keeps coming up. Obviously, I plan on getting an SD card a.s.a.p, but I'm concerned that the internal memory doesn't seem to work - or am I doing something wrong?

Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm pulling my hair out at the moment, and believe me, I haven't much to spare!

I've got the TZ7 and TZ10 and if I set the photo size to 0.2Mb which is 200Kb approx., then it says it will take 84. That is of course pics that you can't do much with except check the camera is working.

Use the Q. button on the back to set the picture size to 0.2Mb which is 200Kb approx. (carp quality). Then toggle the Display button on the back so you can see all the details on the screen and how many pics you've taken. It should count down from 84 or whatever your number is.

Slide the switch from camera to review (button top back) and review the pics you have taken. Use the delete button (under Q Menu) to clear them all...

I use 2x 16Gb memory cards by Transcend I always carry a spare in case one fails.

And don't forget. Post processing is an important part of photography and should be used to sharpen and enhance pictures taken with your camera. If you don't have an imaging editor, then use the one in my signature below. There are to get you started. The most useful is the and for even more adjustment. The is a must (it's my favourite all-in-one adjuster). My Resize-Crop-Sharpen tutorial below, will get your pics ready for the internet or whatever
