E-PL1s offers extended ISO range, new lens and a new colour

Olympus has released details of a new Micro Four Thirds camera that makes some minor improvements on the E-PL1. Although the aesthetics are extremely similar there are two major changes to the functionality in a 6400 ISO range extension and new battery pack, with the only other differentiation from the E-PL1 being the addition of red to the available colours.

A new kit lens is also available with the camera, offering the same 14-42mm focal length but being lighter, smaller and quieter than its predecessor. This also makes the entire package one of the lightest on the market, and the improved lens is also better geared toward movie recording.

Although there seem to be no plans to bring the E-PL1s to this country the lens is expected at some point in the future.
