30x optical camera debuts at CES

To compliment the group of smaller compacts launched at this year’s CES, the Easyshare Max is a superzoom model offering a huge 30x optical zoom. Full manual controls also come as part of the package alongside a 3″ LCD screen.

Although it’s also known by the Max designation there’s also a model number, Z990, to indicate it’ll be replacing the Z980. This is reflected in the general design of the Z990/Max, as it seems at least physically reminiscent of it’s predecessor.

Optical image stabilization is present to attempt to keep motion blur to a minimum, and the ISO range extends to an impressive 12,800. Raw image mode is present as is the same three step sharing process as the other new compacts.
