Leica M lenses to be compatible with Ricoh's innovative system

Ricoh has confirmed the development of another module for the GXR system that will allow Leica M lenses to be connected to the body, amongst others. The GXR normally offers modules with both the lens and sensor in one unit, making this new announcement a major departure.

Details of how the new unit will fit into the range are thin on the ground, but the sensor will be 12MP, APS-C. More modules have been hinted at, making it possible for the GXR system to more closely compete with Compact System Cameras such as Panasonic’s GH2.
