Default canon 550d with double lens kit

    hi,

i am just about to spend 600 on the canon 550d with double lens deal at jessops.
the camera review is great (albeit a few years old now)
but the lens reviews are about 75%

    thoughts guys?
    should i or shouldnt i?
i am a fisherman that loves nature, and taking pics of my surroundings.
i enjoy shooting pictures of my family, holidays and having a piece of kit ready to impress myself and others with my pictures.
i am new to dslr- and am a hobbyist level.
    many thanks

the 550d is a really good camera and its only 2 years old. the kit 18-55is lens isnt a bad lens it the 75-300 which isnt so good. i would look for a kit that has the 55-250 or just look at getting the standard 18-55 and then looking for another lens.

canons 55-250 is a good lens for its price and scores high on the image quality. if need a longer lens then look at 70-300

    Thanks again wave.
I'm gonna take your advice of splitting the deal up-
Last question, is it worth while to upgrade to 600d?
    Many thanks

you need to look at the features you get with the 600d, a swivel screen and also wireless flash control are two that come to mind if you think that these will be of use then the upgrade is worth while. if not then save the money towards another lens
