Wacom has released a tablet with a 24inch LCD display built in, meaning the user needn’t watch the screen while making adjustments. The new Cintiq 24HD offers complete control using either a finger or one of Wacom’s many accessories, such as a pressure-sensitive pen.

The Wacom Cintiq 24HD is much like a number of other devices in the Wacom range, in that it offers superb levels of control over the exact positioning and level of a tools effectiveness. This can be used to create detailed masks in Photoshop, recolour specific areas or tidy up small imperfections on an image.

The 1920 x 1200 display can not only detect 2048 levels of pressure, but 40 degrees of tilt, making it extremely accurate to the users control. A number of customisable buttons line the outside of the tablet as well, meaning frequently used tools can be assigned to a nearby button. 

Although graphic designers will doubtlessly be salivating at the prospect of a new tablet, the applications for the Cintiq 24HD for photographic and, thanks to the hi-res display, video usage is just as exciting.
