The deadline to enter the Sony World Photography Awards is fast approaching, with January 4th being the last possible opportunity. The awards return to London this year, being hosted at Somerset House with images shown between April and May 2012.

Prizes include $25,000 for the winning professional image, $5,00 for the Open competition (aimed at amateurs with free entry) and Sony SLR equipment for the Moving Image award which combines both slideshows and video submissions.
