Lost! Stuck!

Hi everyone!

I am planning to get a new camera on a (very) tight budget .. cheap as possible as I am a student!

I want to start creating light animations and short stop/start animations that may involve short clips therefore (I think) I have two main requirements:

1. HD filming
2. shutter control of up to 30 seconds.

I would prefer to go secondhand for a better deal as this will be my first camera but will not pass up a bargain.

Currently I am finding it very difficult to search for my requirements while keeping the cost down.

My knowledge is limited(ish) so please reply use layman's terms!
