Could future Samsung compacts borrow technology from Smartphones?

What Digital Camera was able to sit down and interview Sunhong Lim, Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Samsung Electronic’s Digital Imaging business, at CES 2012.

Mr Lim has recently moved across from Samsung’s hugely successful mobile business that includes the popular Galaxy range of Smartphones and tablets. With this experience under his belt, Mr Lim hopes to bring his wealth of existing knowledge to the digital imaging sector. This could mean more mobile technologies finding their way into future compact camera ranges, including easier content sharing and other Smartphone handling characteristics.

CES has already seen a host of Samsung compact cameras announced that feature Wi-Fi technology, while the Samsung SH100 already has a couple of Apps available via Android Market Place. We expect to see even more mobile technology and concepts transfer across in the future… so watch this space.
