Sony has announced a trio of new Cyber-shot models in the shape of the W630, W620 and W610. The models are all targeted at the point-and-shoot photographer and aim to ‘put high quality creative imaging within easy reach’, according to Sony.

The Sony Cyber-shot W630 features a 16.1MP sensor, a 5x optical zoom comprised of Carl Zeiss optics and a 25mm wide angle, as well as HD video capture with Optical SteadyShot Active technology.

Both the Sony Cyber-shot W620 and W610 share the same 14.1MP sensor, though differ in their optics – the W610 features a 4x optical zoom, while the W620 features a 5x optical zoom, and also features HD video capture.

All three of the new W series Cyber-shot models feature Sony’s new 360-degree Sweep Panorama mode, offering instant stitching of a burst of images in to one 360-degree scene.

The W620 and W620, meanwhile, offer for in-camera ‘Picture Effects’ – photographers can apply Pop Colour, Toy Camera, Partial Colour and Soft High-key effects to captured images without the need for a computer.

The Sony Cyber-shot W610, W620 and W630 will all be available at the start of next month. There’s no news yet on pricing, but for more information visit Sony online.
