Six more assorted prime and zoom lenses due for the X-Pro1's X-mount before the end of 2013

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 has gathered a lot of attention at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. Its mix of innovative features and high-end prime lenses has set plenty of tongues wagging. Its the new X-mount that’s of particular interest, and What Digital Camera has seen the 2012-2013 XF-lens lineup.

Joining the 18mm f/2.0, 35mm f/1.4 and 60mm f/2.0 macro will be a super-wide 14mm and 18-72mm f/4.0 IS zoom lens before 2012 is out. This ought to create an even wider net of interest due to the inclusion of a zoom lens.

But that’s not all. Although the lineup is still to be finalised, 2013 will introduce a 28mm f/2.8 pancake lens, followed by a 23mm f/2.0, and a pair of zooms – a 70-200mm f/4.0 IS telephoto and wide 12-24mm f/4.0 IS.

It’s interesting to see an X100-style 23mm lens, which may prompt some existing users to hang up their fixed lens compact in favour of the better-designed X-Pro1. But a wait until around mid-2013 for such a lens means the X100 holds plenty of value for the next 18 months.

It seems as though Fujifilm will base the lineup on customer feedback once the Compact System Camera is launched to ensure its customer base receives the kind of glass it wants. This means all the forthcoming lenses are subject to change and we haven’t seen as much as a mock-up of any of the abobve listed lenses as yet. More news as and when we receive more information.
