16MP Polaroid SC1630 compact utilizes Google operating system

A new compact from Polaroid uses the Google Android operating system, making it capable of downloading apps and expanding functionality. The Polaroid SC1630 is a 16MP compact with a 3x optical zoom, touchscreen and wifi connectivity.

Thanks to the ability to connect to the internet the camera portion can be developed using downloading filters and other effects. The uploading to various social networking sites isn’t reliant on an intermediary, such as a computer, making the process far faster and simpler.

GPS is also included, as is the likes of Smart Albums and Smile Detection. No price or release date was available, and the release date was quoted as 2012. For more information head to Polaroid’s website.
