D300

Is the D300 change/upgrade on the cards.

I am looking to upgrade to either the D7000 or the D300 torn between the two at present.

However the D300 has been around a while now, and from mid range down all have been upgraded/replaced over the last few years.

Given there are a few deals around on the D300 it just occurred to me there may be something around the corner.

In terms of image and video quality, the d7000 murders the d300, but in pretty much every other aspect the d300 beats the d7000
So yeah, best functionality = d300, best files produced = d7000
d400 should hopefully be out soon, but we thought that like 2 years ago :L

That's hundreds of rumours flying around at the moment, but nothing is certain.

The D300s is getting pretty long in the tooth now, and while it's still a very capable camera, the D7000 delivers the better images. It's a lovely camera to use, and while it doesn't quite have the same robust pro-level build as the D300s, it's a close match for it in pretty much every other area. And its cheaper, making it the one to go for out of the two.
