Good Camera for Night/Low Light pics?

I'm looking at buying a camera that takes decent day time pics but also takes good pics at night or in low light. The pics will mostly be of city scenes, like sky lines, and buildings/architecture.

I had been looking at the Panasonic Lumix FZ100 but the reviews appear to be a bit hit and miss (some rave about how good the night pics are, others say they are too noisy at high ISO).

My budget is £300. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
