A definition of CMYK

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (black). A subtractive colour system based on the superimposition of cyan, magenta and yellow. Black is added to these three colours as true, deep blacks are hard to produce with cyan, magenta and yellow alone. This addition is also cost effective for manufacturers (and therefore consumers) as it helps to preserve coloured ink.
