A term commonly used in videography and for broadcast systems, which relates to the frequency with which a device produces consecutive images, or frames. This is usually stated in frames per second (fps),
although it can also be stated with its scanning format, such as 24p (24 progressive frames per second) or 60i (60 interlaced frames per second).
