Superzoom or DSLR
I need to upgrade my camera and want a much better picture quality then my current point & shoot (Panasonic DMC-FX35). I like what the superzoom's can offer for the price, specifically the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX100V. I, however, want to make sure its picture quality is good. My other option is the Nikon D3100. My top 3 priorities are:
1. Picture Quality
2. HD Video
3. Zoom
How close do the superzoom's come to the entry-level DSLR's?
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome its always difficult to say this is better for you or this one isnt as good. Super zooms have there place they are an all in one solution. A DSLR is part of system that you invest in so you would start by buying a camera and usually a kit lens then add to the system. A DSLR isnt a magic camera you have to learn to use it.
What do you take pictures of it will help

Concern
I guess what I mostly want to be certain of is that this particular superzoom, the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX100V, has good quality photos. My concern is because it does have a smaller sensor, like the point & shoots.
Also, how far away in quality would it be from the Nikon D3100?
