A definition of Time lapse

A technique in which consecutive images of a constantly changing subject are captured, before being stitched together into a single video file. When viewed at a certain frame rate (at least 24fps), this seamlessly displays the action over an extended period in little more than a few seconds. It is particularly effective for subjects which change at a slow and constant pace, such as sunrises and flowers in bloom.
