    Question Macro Lens

I'm wanting to buy a macro lens for my Nikon D70, I've been looking at the Sigma 105mm macro lens (as I think this is the best one for a Nikon D70) but the cheapest I can find it for is £399, does anyone know where I can get it cheaper or is this the lowest price im going to find?

    Thanks!

Hi Charotte. I have the Sigma 70mm f2.8 Macro which I use on my D300 and it's a cracker. The benefit of the 105mm will allow you to be further away from subject, thus not scaring it off it's an insect. Park Cameras sell the 105 Sigma for £389.99. Mifsuds.com have a 105mm f2.8 for £249 in their used section so it may be worth checking out. It seems most major retailers charge roughly the same for many lenses. I often look at the websites of these retailers for a peek at their used section, it can pay off. All the best.

oh thank you, £249 does seem better, a bit more in my price range anyway . I did look at the Sigma 70mm but I thought it may be better to get the 105mm incase of scaring an insect or whatever, as you said! but thanks for the advice will definitely have a look at those websites!

    Cheers!

    Hello,
    Without spending too much
    canon 100mm f/2.8 macro
it also works as a short tele lens too. The 100mm gives you confortable working distance. The f/2.8 will let you play with the depth of field. Although i do suggest f8-11 for most situtations.

    Thanks
