Is the Canon EOS550D worth my £600?

Hi All,

I'm looking to get a decent DSLR Camera, I am relatively new to DSLR cameras and after a lot of research I have set my eyes on the Canon EOS 550d. Now I am getting cold feet and was wondering if the Nikon D3100 would be better suiting my needs?

Stay with the 550d you wont be disappointed, why are you considering the 3100

I'm thinking that getting a D3100 would free up money to put towards a decent lens. Would that be a wise idea?

I would always go for the better lens. A good lens will get you good photos

Go and try both out see which feels better are comfortable with using it this may well help

Thanks for your help. That's a logical idea. I will make my decision once i've got my hands on the gear in the shop.
