When you say "best compact megazoom with optical viewfinder" do you mean a pocket compact, bridge compact or one where, for a price, you can add lenses?

What is your budget?

With regards "short shutter lag". Most compacts have reasonable shutter lag but if you want to capture the action, you should think about Pre-Focus which all good photogs use http://www.digital-photography-schoo...at-shutter-lag
