Talking New DSLR type for Iceland trip

Hi I'm new to WDC and relatively new to photography. I've been let down by my point and shoot with it's lack of options and ability. I am looking for a camera with interchangeable lenses, it needs to have good fps for sports, a good range of apertures. It must be capable of shooting in low light with little noise. The top range of my budget is around 400 for body and one lens.

I know this is a tall order but would anyone be able to advise me on any cameras that fit the bill?! Thanks

Default Iceland here we come :)

    Hi and welcome

With your budget you will be hard pushed to get a new body and a couple of lenses, but if you only want one lens, then you could look at the http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DSLRA29...6926619&sr=8-1 ..... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-70-300...930582&sr=8-16
Because the sensor is not full size, it has a focal length multiplier of 1.5. Which means that 70 becomes 105mm (equivalent to 35mm) and 300 becomes 450mm (equivalent to 35mm)

However, you may get more bang for your buck second hand. If so, I can recommend Mifsuds, who will not rip you off and give sound advice on second hand stock..

Give them a ring on on 01803 852 400 and explain your budget and what your looking for plus where you're going - you won't be disappointed.

Also if you're new to photography, I would recommend this DSLR tutorial by Canon http://web.canon.jp/imaging/enjoydslr/index.html

If you are more advanced then take a look at these sites http://www.photoxels.com/digital-pho...tutorials.html or even more advanced http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm

Enjoy your trip and do come back and tell us how you got on

    Regards

    Chris
