Photokina has a reputation for being the world’s leading imaging fair and this year’s event showcased a huge selection of new and innovative cameras, lenses and accessories from a wide range of manufacturers. We’ve collaborated all of our first-look videos from the show in this Photokina 2012 What Digital Camera roundup.

The first day of Photokina 2012 saw numerous product announcements, including the release of Canon’s EOS 6D. Featuring a 20.2MP full-frame sensor, a 100-25600 ISO range and 4.5fps burst rate, it marks Canon’s first DSLR to offer intergrated Wi-Fi connectivity and in-built GPS support.

On the Canon stand we had the opportunity to speak to David Parry about the way the EOS 6D’s Wi-Fi functionality works. Canon are currently in the process of finishing the EOS remote app for wireless devices such as smartphones and tablets so David showed us how the EOS 6D could be connected to another Wi-Fi enabled device, Canon’s IXUS 240 HS.

Sigma had a busy Photokina and launched three new lenses in collaboration with a new lens dock device that enables photographers to customise how their lenses perform. We interviewed Paul Reynolds from Sigma UK who told us more about the new products soon to be made available.
