Replacement battery advice

Hi Planning to get a few extra batteries for sony a55.

Has anybody had any problems with non sony replcement batteries.

In particular do they still give the camera info on the battery charge. As Some sellers on ebay say their batteries have a smart chip in.

Hi, I have several non Sony batteries for my A380, they work fine but on odd occassions when the battery is inserted it will say "incompatible battery"
I simply take it out and re-insert it and it works fine
