Hello, im new to this site so please go easy on me if i appear stupid !

I have a Panasonic HDC TM10 HD camcorder but the low light performance is shocking. I have seen a friend using the Lumix FZ38 camera in video mode and the resulting video footage seems much better than anything i can get out of this damn camcorder. So i need advice ie is the FZ38 'that good' or am i doing something wrong with the camcorder i have???
