A new waterproof housing makes it possible to shoot underwater with the Liquid Image EGO camera.

Not long after announcing the EGO camera, Liquid image has launched a new waterproof housing. The newly designed waterproof case arrives a week after Go Pro announced their HERO 3 camera and reveals there’s extremely strong competition in the underwater camera area of the market at present.

The new waterproof case for the EGO camera has been depth rated to 40m, equivalent to 130ft. Whether you’re surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving or swimming, the housing has been designed to be a snug fit without compromising the size or weight of the camera.

Two buttons on the top of the housing allow the user to easily switch between still images and video. The adjustable flat adhesive mount that comes with the EGO camera connects directly to the base of the waterproof housing, creating a number of mounting options for ease of use and flexibility.

The underwater housing will be available for purchase from November 2012 with an RRP of £39.99.
