Samsung announces three brand new Compact System Cameras

Samsung has updated and extended their range of Compact System Cameras (CSCs) with the releases of the NX20, NX210 and NX1000. All three models boast a 20.3MP APS-C sized sensor as well as a 100-12800 ISO range.

The NX20 follows the NX11 and NX10, and incorporates a built-in electronic viewfinder (EVF). There’s now the addition of a hinged swival rear screen that uses the latest Clear AMOLED technology that promises even better viewing.

The NX20 can now shoot up to 1/6000sec thanks to a new hybrid mechanical and electronic shutter, while it is also capable of shooting at up to 8fps.

There’s also a dedicated movie record button and Wi-fi compatibility, which is also offered on the NX1000 and NX210. This allows images to be backed up onto a Cloud service or to a local computer without the need for cables, while it’s also possible to have the feed transmitted onto a smartphone or tablet via a dedicated App.

The NX210 is a subtle upgrade to the NX200, with the most notable update WiFi compatibility and the 8fps frame rate. There’s now also connections for a external microphone and the ability to shoot compressed Raw files as well.

Finally the NX1000 presents a new line in Samsung Compact System
Cameras, sitting at the beginner end of the price range. The design closely resembles the NX200/NX210, but now has a plastic finish and other minor differences. The rear screen is a standard LCD rather and an AMOLED display, though it still has that impressive 20.3MP APS-C sensor as its siblings.

The three models will be released soon and are priced at; NX20: £899, NX210: £749 and NX1000: £599. For more information head to Samsung’s website.
