Help me please

I have used a Nikon D40X for 2.5 years now. I seem to have to always bracket on every shot. the exposure meter seems to make the pictures over-exposed. Effectively I can use Aperture/Shutter priority as exposure meter and have to take pictures using manual mode.

Should I get camera repaired or replaced?

Hi Bkindler Don't know if this will help i have a Nikon d60 which is similar to your d40 and i always keep it on -1/3 exposure compensation i find it gives better colours. Why not take it into your local camera shop and see what they say
