Fujifilm has developed the FUJINON XF55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS lens for the X-Pro 1 and X-E1

Fujifilm has added the FUJINON XF55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS lens to its XF-series of lenses. Designed for use with the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and Fujifilm X-E1, the new FUJINON XF55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS is claimed to produce sharp images across its entire zoom range and boasts an optical image stabilisation (OIS) function that enables the use of shutter speeds 4.5 stops slower than could otherwise be used.

Furthermore, the FUJINON XF55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS features two linear motors to ensure a high-speed autofocus performance of 0.28 seconds and its optical construction includes two ED lens elements and one Super ED lens element that’s claimed by Fujifilm to boast a performance equivalent to that of fluorite lenses.

FUJINON’s proprietary “HT-EBC Coating is used to as a preventative measure against reflections, flare and ghosting, while the focus ring and aperture ring are made from metal and have been designed to have a high quality feel, with the benefit of being extra robust.

The minimum working distance across the entire zoom range is 1.1m.

Pricing and availability of the lens was yet to be confirmed by Fujifilm at the time of writing.
