Looks interesting but it's not for me.

Its ugly but I'd still consider it if the quality is good enough.

Sony NEX system
What's the consensus on the new Sony NEX system? Do you have any interest whatsoever in buying such a camera?

Sony NEX system
Whilst the NEX cameras may look good with a pancake type lens, with the zoom lens attached it is a real ugly brute. No thanks!

i have looked at these cameras but when it came down to it i got a dslr eos550d, the slr/dslr has been around for years now and for it is very simple look through the view finder and you see what you are taking.
i think getting one of these cameras in the sun then you will struggle with the lcd screen, i know you can bolt on view finders but that o me defeats the object. you would be better off with a canon g11 it does score higher in your reviews.

Tried a NEX5 and 18-55m lens this morning; it handles as bad as it looks... There was/is nowhere on the camera for someone with hands my size to get a purchase, and the strap lugs are also in the way; I found myself having to hold the lens unit to get any sort of grip. The NEX bodies may be small and 'cool', but they are too small for the purpose of serious photography, and 'cool' never was/is/ will be a function or feature for a camera.

Looks wise it seems great, but I cant imagine it being the most comfortable thing to hold, and apparently the usability suffers as well with lots of menu digging...
Still, the features sound awesome, 3-d sweep pano, 7fps, handlheld HDR, twilight mode, ISO 12800, aps-c sensor, full HD video, the list goes on!
If it didnt cost so much (around the same as a 550d!) I would definitely consider it
