    Default All in one lens

i recently purchased a Nikon D5000 DSLR, it came with the 18-55VR lens and i bought the 55-200VR as a secondary lens.

I have been in Jersey all week taking photos of animals, general holiday snaps and a friends wedding. Was finding myself caught out at times and needed to swap lenses, which was annoying me.
Is it worth getting an all in one lens? im looking at Nikkor 18-200 VR lens or Tamron 18-270 VR Lens.

is the quality close of an all in one? and which to buy

    Thanks

The quality of a jack of all trades lens isn't as good, generally speaking, as a lens of a shorter range. You'll find sharpness and contrast not quite as good and you'll probably get more distortion, but it depends how discerning and demanding you are whether it would be good enough.
The Tamron obviously has a longer reach and is better value, though the Nikon is probably optically a bit better.

    Default 18-200 mm lens

I am a Canon user and have a Canon 18-200 3.5 I S lens and it is my mainstay lens that I used recently during a visit to the UK. I took all my photos with this lens and I am really happy with the quality. You can look at my photos on my Flickr account as I only have two that I have taken with the lens on this site.

I hope this help with your decision.

Nice work.....http://www.flickr.com/photos/83646071@N00/433164300/ They have a view of the river Tweed with a pretty white iron footbridge downstream if I'm not mistaken. A lovely part of the world
