I am hoping you might be able to give me some tips on what is a fairly inexpensive camera that would be good enough for when I take a course in September (in photography). Obviously the higher in tech the better

Hi,

is it a compact or DSLR you need? There's plenty of 'hi-tech' ones out there, but they each fit different criterea. If you're just looking for a DSLR to learn on I'd recommend the Pentax K-m or Canon EOS 1000D.
